Journey to 1000 Subscribers: We Tried Fiverr, Here's How It Went

We didn't go viral … but it was so much easier.

In my previous stories, I have chronicled how I am trying to get 1000 subscribers on YouTube.

Part 1 → Journey To 1000 Subscribers

Part 2 → From 329 to 1000 in 2 Weeks

Part 3 → What Makes a Great YouTube Thumbnail

Part 4 → How I Tripled My YouTube Click-Through Rate

Part 5 → An Update: We Are Failing

The tl;dr here is that I tried some things and not one got me where I wanted to be. In the last entry, I said I am done trying to do this for free and I am going to see if we can get there by paying for it.

I took the leap and paid for some Fiverr Promotion. Here is how it went.

The goal is to get more views and have those people subscribe to our channel so we can reach 1000 subscribers.

I looked around Fiverr for a cheap option to get views and hopefully convert some of them to subscribers. After looking around I settled on this one. They had a good number of reviews and orders in the queue. Hopefully, this meant that they are trustworthy, but in the end, I don't really care as long as I get some good results.

Results

I sent Farah a link to a recent video from the channel and within hours views started coming in. We jumped from 27 total views to over 1400 in just 1 day.

But the real disappointment was adding just 12 followers. Which is a conversion rate of under 1% of those views. Basically saying this is not a sustainable way to get to 1000 subs. Don’t invest in these Fiverr view bumps unless you only want to see your view count increase for a short time. Save your money.

I can conclude that paying $10 for a view bump is fun and a nice shot of dopamine. However, it is not a long-term strategy. I will continue to look for better deals on Fiverr that may give us more sustained momentum but for now, I will go back to getting more videos published and trying to grow organically.
